Pre-School EducationPrograms

One of the main goals of the Outer Banks Wildlife Shelter (OWLS) is education.

Our programs are a fun way to contribute to our shelter. Book a wildlife program and fees from these programs go directly back to the shelter operations. This allows us to purchase medicines, food and supplies needed to give our patients the best possible care. In exchange you get to visit with one or more of our Education Animals, do a tracks, scat or pellet program or come take a tour of our hospital.

Following is a brief description of some of the programs OWLS has to offer for Pre-School:

Pre-School programs
Any of our school prorams can be adjusted to meet your preschool's needs, however we also offer the following program geared especially for preschoolers.

Fur and feathers with Tobey and Paddles!
Your preschoolers can receive a visit from our friendly Education guinea pig Tobey, and our mallard duck Paddles. This hands on program is a great way to discover the differences between feathers and fur, wild and tame. We will also bring along touchable feathers, wings and fur that your preschoolers can feel and compare as they explore this touchable topic! Program lasts 45 minutes. $65 per group.
